Bernard Herrmann Essentials

A titan of American film composition, Bernard Herrmann wrote powerful, haunting scores for some of Hollywood's most iconic films. A graduate of Juilliard, Herrmann entered the film business through his association with Orson Welles on the radio. Herrmann earned an Oscar nomination for Citizen Kane, which led to collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, most notably his striking music for Psycho and Vertigo. Herrmann also wrote memorably for The Twilight Zone and completed his celebrated career with unsettling music for Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.
