Cantus

Biography

Cantus, the men's vocal ensemble based in the Twin Cities, is a full-time vocal group, heard in 60 to 70 performances and more than 30 educational and outreach programs each year. It has performed all over the country and has been heard numerous times on public radio in the U.S. and on SiriusXM. In addition to a cappella music, Cantus has collaborated with other organizations, such as the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Boston Pops. Its repertoire ranges from well-known pieces from the Renaissance, to Romantic-era part songs rarely heard outside of Europe, to arrangements of jazz and pop songs, and to new compositions. The group's programs strive for a unifying theme, and its artistic process is a joint effort by the members. Cantus issued the album Alone Together in 2025.
