Naomi Shaham

Biography

Double bassist Naomi Shaham was winning multiple major prizes and landing major orchestral posts by her early twenties. She performed with the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra, and in 2018, she became principal double bassist of Daniel Barenboim's West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. In 2019, Shaham joined the Budapest Festival Orchestra, and in 2021, she was named solo double bassist of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Shaham made her recording debut, joining the Busch Trio and violist Daniel Palmizio on a recording of Schubert's "Trout" Quintet, D. 667, in 2022.
