During the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, the Orchestra performed in over one hundred concerts—with guest artists that included violinist Maud Powell, composer/conductor Antonín Dvořák, and pianist Ignace Paderewski—in an extraordinary breadth of repertoire.
