William Grant Still Essentials

El prolífico compositor William Grant Still escribió melodías para salas de concierto, teatros de ópera, iglesias, salones y escenarios de ballet. Se destaca por ser el primer estadounidense en tener una ópera interpretada por la Compañía de Ópera de Nueva York de Fiorella La Guardia. Fue miembro activo del movimiento “Renacimiento de Harlem”, creado para promover el trabajo de artistas negros. La obra de Still, que se inspira en gran medida en temas folclóricos, se sigue interpretando tanto en Estados Unidos como en el extranjero.
