Spanish composer Ramon Humet sculpts exquisite choral soundscapes in this beautiful balm for the soul. This immaculately performed album begins with “Close Your Eyes”, a beautiful lullaby featuring a languid soprano line that emerges from ethereal layers of sound. The harmonic dissonances of “Descent to the Summit of the Soul”—scored for female voices—shimmer as if refracting the light. “Luminous Crumbs”, with its stunning use of vocal effects and crotales (small brass discs struck with mallets), paints a glittering image of the heavens. The final track, “Alleluia”, feels like an emotional release, its soft, pulsing chords and powerful silences evoking a sense of peace.
