Johann Wilhelm Furchheim

By 1680 Furchheim was the Konzertmeister in Dresden, vice-Kappelmeister shortly thereafter and the organist to the court. Walther was one of his contemporaries. The compositions of Furchheim were limited to ritornellos, sonatas, exercises, and dances characterized by clear formal strains and revealing harmonic blends. ~ Keith Johnson
