Robert Chirbury

An English composer whose name is associated with a number of different personages. "The Old Hall Manuscript" contains four works which are most likely Chirbury's. He employed the use of scores with direct mannerisms consistent with the times. An exception to this is when he switched syllables in the midst of a single melodic tone. ~ Keith Johnson
