Biography

An Italian composer of sacred music who held positions in Udine, Pesaro, possibly Ferrara, Bologna and Urbino. Paolo must have been very familiar with plainsong and polyphony as he would have had to teach the priests these musical forms. He composed "Salmi brevi," for soprano, alto, tenor and bass with instrumental accompaniment as well as masses, offertorios, sonatas and some secular vocal pieces. ~ Keith Johnson
