Francesco Durante: Requiem

Francesco Durante: Requiem

Oxford Baroque, Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Stephen Darlington
2016

In this rare performance, Durante’s seminal Requiem is rekindled by the historic Christ Church Cathedral Choir and the mighty Oxford Baroque. The choir’s highly disciplined, enchanting singing brings out the power of Durante’s moods and melodies, especially in the sombre “Dies irae”.
