Erik Gustaf Geijer

Geijer was not a professional musician but had a great influence in Sweden in the arenas of philosophy and theology. His musical compositions and interests included the diversity of Swedish folk songs, Romantic trends and the great Classical composers. These interests are demonstrated in his diverse structures and styles of song. Geijer was influenced by Mozart, Beethoven and contemporaries such as Weber, Mendelssohn and Schumann. ~ Keith Johnson
