In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was about five or six years old when I first heard Debussy’s piano music, and it completely blew my mind. Its expansiveness and emotional expressiveness were unlike anything I’d heard, and it made me want to write music and learn the piano. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Janet Jackson, The Velvet Rope Robert Een, Monk: Facing North Steve Reich Ensemble, Music for 18 Musicians Each of these albums creates a distinctive and immersive sound world, from the ritualistic sparseness of Meredith Monk's Facing North, to the deeply personal and emotionally charged landscape of The Velvet Rope, to the meditative yet intricate Reich.
