One World

Karl Jenkins, not for the first time in his career, sounds a warning against the lethal toxins of greed, hatred, and ignorance. One World rises from the composer’s clear vision “of a peaceful and egalitarian planet that treats nature and ecological issues with respect and where human rights are universal.” He channels his hope for a better, fairer global society into a succession of interconnected movements for various permutations of soprano, mezzo-soprano and baritone soloists, large chorus, and orchestra, each hallmarked by expansive, folk-like melodies, lush harmonies, and incisive rhythms.
