Fabrizio Dentice

Biography

The son of the patriarch of an Italian family of composers and instrumentalists. As a singer, Fabrizio played the part of Pasquella in Gl'ingannati before the Prince of Salerno. His lute playing was acclaimed enough to be referred to by Galilei. While in service at Parma he composed lamentations and chordal recitations based in the root position; he spiced the flavoring of the music with augmentations of the triad. His lute playing overshadowed his compositions. ~ Keith Johnson
