Star baritone Bryn Terfel joins the Vienna Philharmonic for this summery feast of opera, musical theatre and orchestral hits.
An estimated 100,000 people flock to the extensive grounds of Vienna’s imposing Schönbrunn Palace each summer to enjoy a varied menu of classical music, all performed by the Vienna Philharmonic and invited guests. This year, Welsh baritone Bryn Terfel brings operatic weight to the party, with Verdi, Boito and Wagner interspersed between orchestral favourites by Ravel, Korngold, Tchaikovsky and, to kick things off, von Suppé’s delightful Light Cavalry Overture. Conductor Lorenzo Viotti makes his debut at the Summer Night Concert, steering the Vienna Phil with consummate skill and thrilling energy.
