Ailís Ní Ríain

Composer Ailís Ní Ríain writes music for solo performers or for small combinations of instruments, often employing an altered piano. She is also a playwright whose works have been produced in multiple countries. Ní Ríain describes herself as deaf/hard of hearing, and since 2007, she has written works pertaining to disability. She has worked with deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie. In 2023, Ní Ríain released her debut album, The Last Time I Died, on the NMC label.
