Pierre Cadéac

A French composer and choirmaster who wrote seven masses, a Credo and a Magnificat, numerous chansons and 32 motets. Some of his works were printed by Du Chemin to spread church music and to compete with other publishings firms. Cadeac's music was printed ouside of France in Nuremburg, Strasbourg and Venice, and categorical listings of material in Krakow include works by Cadeac. The qualities of his music were genuinely French in character with succinct melodies, soft rhythms and straightforward harmonies. ~ Keith Johnson
