Für diese Aufnahme von Durantes wegweisendem, aber selten aufgeführten „Requiem“ konnten gleich zwei bekannte Oxforder Ensembles gewonnen werden – der traditionsreiche Christ Church Cathedral Choir und das großartige Oxford Baroque Orchester. Besonders im düsteren „Dies irae“ kommen dank der hohen stimmlichen Disziplin und Klarheit die außergewöhnlichen Klangfarben und Stimmungen in Durantes Musik wunderbar zur Geltung.
