La tessiture de la guitare et le baryton du violoncelle s’accordent à merveille pour cet album inspiré par la tradition des chansons accompagnées à la guitare, qui prévalait à Vienne au XIXe siècle. Sur le thème de la nuit, l’archet d’Anja Lechner et les doigts agiles de Pablo Márquez font chanter les mélancoliques lieder de Schubert, publiés à l’époque dans des versions à la fois pour piano et guitare. « Le Joueur de vielle », issu du bouleversant Voyage d’hiver, ou les nocturnes de Friedrich Burgmüller qui complètent ce programme évoquent bien la douce intimité d’un salon viennois.
