William McClelland

Composer and pianist William McClelland's long, successful career spans several genres of music-making, most notably in works written for voice, often performing with his wife, soprano Jean McClelland. In the classical realm, he has found success as a choral composer, establishing a relationship with pianist William Appling and his ensembles. McClelland is also a dedicated environmentalist and founded the jazz ensemble the Feetwarmers, which issued the album Centrifugal Swing in 2000. In 2003, the William Appling Singers issued a recording of choral music by McClelland, The Revenge of Hamish and Other Choral Works. In 2022, Naxos released William McClelland: Where the Shadow Glides, featuring choral works, songs, and piano music by McClelland.
