Richard Pantcheff
Biography
An important composer of contemporary British choral music and keyboard music, Richard Pantcheff also conducts choirs and plays the organ. His music has been performed internationally. Pantcheff has often been commissioned to write music for significant events in the histories of educational institutions, with one breakthrough being his festival anthem Henry VIII's Apologia, composed for the 450th anniversary of the founding of Christ Church, Oxford, in 1996. As of the early 2020s, Pantcheff was guest conductor of the Choir of St. Michael at the Northgate, Oxford. Several collections of Pantcheff's music have appeared, including Music of Richard Pantcheff, Vol. 2: Music for Choir and Orchestra, issued by the London Choral Sinfonia and conductor Michael Waldron in 2021.
