Jean Louis Nicode

Composer, pianist, and conductor Jean Louis Nicodé was an important figure in Dresden's musical life at the end of the 19th century. Although forgotten for many decades, his works have received new attention in the 21st century. Nicodé's style reveals influences from Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, and Beethoven, combined in inventive ways. His keyboard music is the subject of a series by pianist Muen Vanessa Wei; that series began in 2025 with the album Jean Louis Nicodé: Piano Music, Vol. 1.
