馬勒的《第八交響曲》極少在美國演出。這張專輯中，猶他管弦交響樂團與著名的摩門大教堂合唱團聯手，時隔 53 年後再次上演了這部作品。這是一場震撼人心的表演，指揮 Thierry Fischer 不像 Leonard Bernstein 那樣為馬勒的音樂賦予充沛的感情，而是採取了更為直接的方式。在優秀的獨唱家、技藝精湛的管弦樂伴奏，當然還有合唱團的合作之下，這張專輯堪稱一次非凡的成就。
