Rodrigo de Ceballos

This Spanish composer wrote masses, numerous motets, magnificats, madrigals and hymns. He was engaged in music in Seville and later in Cordoba. Many of the works which he composed are extant and in large print but due to poor containment conditions they can hardly be discerned. Fortunately, some of Ceballos' music survives in other collections. Finesse and suavity best characterize the stylings of Ceballos. ~ Keith Johnson
