Biography

An extremely popular and prolific composer, Jimmy Van Heusen is best known for his contributions to numerous Hollywood films. With Johnny Burke, he wrote songs for 16 Bing Crosby films, including the Oscar winning "Swinging On A Star" and "Moonlight Becomes You." When Burke became seriously ill in 1954, Van Heusen teamed up with Sammy Cahn for the 1955 Frank Sinatra comedy THE TENDER TRAP. The pair reunited with Sinatra many times, winning Oscars for "All The Way" and "High Hopes." Van Heusen died in 1990.
