Thomas Simaku

Biography

The music of composer Thomas Simaku has been performed on several continents by some of the world's leading musicians. Simaku practices a highly expressive brand of modernism. By the late '90s, Simaku had completed mature works such as the Soliloquy No. 1 for solo violin. Returning to Britain, Simaku held a three-year fellowship from the Arts & Humanities Research Council in London. He became a British citizen in 2000. Simaku's works have been performed by major orchestras in Britain and abroad. As of the mid-2020s, some 20 of Simaku's works have been recorded.
