An English composer and organist who was the organist at St. Michaels and All Trinity in Coventry, and, Holy Trinity at a later date. Any position which Bond held, he pursued with distinction and both St. Michaels and Holy Trinity were his until death. Bond was in one sense a promoter bringing music of diverse genres to the Midlands of England. He brought organ, instrumental and choral productions to Coventry having conducted Handel's "Messiah" and "Samson" in the same year. Major compositions include the collections "Six Concertos in Seven Parts" and "Six Anthems in Score". The Concertos are scored for strings, 2-5, trumpet, 1, and basoon, 6. The first and sixth were noted for Bond's convincing composition for a solo instrument and the latter was renowned for his special treatment of the woodwind instrument. ~ Keith Johnson
