Dani Howard

Well-Known Works

Biography

Composer Dani Howard created a substantial body of work while still in the first part of her career, including many orchestral pieces and several operas. She has had works commissioned by top orchestras in Britain and beyond. In 2014 and 2015, Howard was a finalist at the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition held in Prague, Czech Republic. Howard's bright, rhythmically vigorous music began to attract attention from major orchestras, and the roughly 40 orchestras that have commissioned new works from her include the London Symphony Orchestra and five BBC orchestras. In 2017, Britain's Classic FM radio network commissioned her to write a new work in celebration of the network's 25th anniversary. Howard's Trombone Concerto of 2021 was recorded by Peter Moore on a 2024 album that also featured other orchestral works by Howard.
