Cosimo Bottegari

Served under the auspices of Lassus in the court of Duke Albrecht V. This Italian singer and lute player was also able to serve as a performer in the court of the Medici. His most important contribution was "Arie e canzoni in music" (translated as the Bottegari Lute Book). Contained in this corpus are 131 pieces for voice and lute and includes works by Caccini and Bottegari. ~ Keith Johnson
