Zygmunt Noskowski
Biography
Composer, conductor, and pedagogue Zygmunt Noskowski played a pivotal role in the emergence of a distinctly Polish symphonic tradition. Long overlooked in music history, his work has recently enjoyed a resurgence in recordings, notably through Capriccio's 2025 release of his Symphony No. 3 and the symphonic poem Step, which reveal the richness of his orchestral language and his deep attachment to national color. A prolific composer, he made a decisive contribution to the development of an independent Polish symphonic school. Renewed interest and recordings continue to reassess the significance of his contributions to European musical history.
