Biography
Tricklir served in the courts of Mainz and Dresden playing the cello particularly as a chamber virtuoso. He found his permanent station in Dresden for the Elector of Saxony. Though he did travel to England and France, Dresden became his home. He composed a number of cello sonatas which were melodic and accessible with occasional displays of virtuosity in the solo passages. Tricklir also wrote two treatises, "Le microcosme musical" and "Discours analytique." The former contended with changes in the weather and the effects on tuning instruments. ~ Keith Johnson
