Shirley J. Thompson

Composer Shirley J. Thompson has written music for major events, including the coronation of King Charles III. Her works are in many genres and often blend classical orchestration with elements of popular and world music. Thompson has also composed extensively for films, theater, and television, and is also an important educator. Several of her works have been recorded, including Dance of the Night Sky for string trio (2024).
