Michael Giacchino
Biography
One of Hollywood’s most celebrated composers, Michael Giacchino has spent more than 25 years making music for film, television, and video games. ∙ Giacchino first gained recognition for his video game music, composing for such landmark titles as The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty. ∙ Producer J.J. Abrams has a long-running relationship with Giacchino, who’s scored music for his TV series (Alias, Lost) and films (Mission: Impossible III, Star Trek). ∙ Beginning with 2004’s The Incredibles, he’s contributed music to several animated films, earning his first Grammy for 2007’s Ratatouille and his first Oscar for 2009’s Up. ∙ He scored numerous blockbusters in the 2010s, including Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Spider Man: Homecoming. ∙ To commemorate the 60th anniversary of NASA, Giacchino composed his first work for a symphony orchestra, Voyage, which premiered in 2018. ∙ In 2020, he released his first original artist album, the sci-fi-themed Travelogue Volume 1.
