Biography
A French composer and cellist who studied in Italy with Alborea. His compositions include a number of cello sonatas all of which present technical difficulties. Some of his sonatas are arranged in three to five movements demonstrating the Italian influence. The difficulty of the compositions for cello by Barriere are indicative of his virtuosity. ~ Keith Johnson
