Composer Carl Teike wrote one of the most popular military marches of all time, Alte Kameraden ("Old Comrades"). Its melody is known in many parts of the world. Teike composed some 100 marches and about 20 concert works. His music continues to be recorded; in 2024, the Royal Swedish Navy Band issued the first volume in a series of albums devoted to Teike's marches.
