Menahem Pressler Essentials

A specialist in Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn, this Israeli American pianist has deployed his refined technique in riveting accounts of Classical period works since coming to global prominence in the 1950s. Pressler has recorded for the Philips and Deutsche Grammophon labels, while teaching in America (to which he immigrated, after his family fled Nazi Germany). And with the Beaux Arts Trio—a group he founded—Pressler has made select ventures into the contemporary realm, playing works by Ned Rorem and George Rochberg.
