Peter Graham

Composer Peter Graham is among the most important figures writing new music in the brass band tradition. He has often been associated with the Black Dyke Band. Graham's 1983 work Dimensions established his reputation as a composer. An early breakthrough was a commission to provide arrangements for percussionist Evelyn Glennie's 1999 album Reflected in Brass, a collaboration with the Black Dyke Band. He served as Music Associate with the Black Dyke Band from 1997 to 2004 and as composer-in-residence with His Majesty's Coldstream Guards Band, but his works have been performed by many other groups. Graham's works have been recorded several times by the Black Dyke Band; the euphonium concerto Force of Nature appeared on an album by that name in 2023.
