Mozart: The Last Three Symphonies

Playing on period instruments, the Orchestra of the 18th Century delivers an award-winning performance of Mozart’s final symphonic works, bursting with drama and colour. The collection was recorded months before the 2014 death of conductor Frans Brüggen, who guides us through a historically informed interpretation that glows with intensity and joie de vivre in equal measure. Composed over the space of a few weeks in the summer of 1788, Symphonies Nos 39, 40 and 41 round out Mozart’s legacy as one of the all-time greats. The Symphony No. 40 in G Minor is probably Mozart’s most famous, but there’s plenty more to discover.
