Interpretações da Sinfonia Nº 8 de Mahler por uma orquestra norte-americana são uma raridade, e esta da Utah Symphony - 53 anos após a primeira - se destaca pela participação do famoso Coro do Tabernáculo Mórmon. Neste álbum eles produzem uma música incrível que foi deslumbrantemente gravada. Thierry Fischer não é um mahleriano tão emotivo como Bernstein, ao contrário, ele adota uma abordagem bastante direta. Com bons solistas, boa interpretação da orquestra e, é claro, a participação do coral, o resultado é uma versão notável.
