Laurence Ipsum Presents: The Sound of Silent Beat

Pianist Laurence Ipsum’s compilation album takes tracks from two previous albums, Night and Dawn, and adds music by fellow pianists Jiří Horák, Milana Zilnik and Cinthya Garcia, plus “Between Dawn and Day”—a song exclusive to Apple Music. A prolific composer for German television, Ipsum is well-versed in creating magical atmospheres with hypnotic, stripped-back piano textures. “First Rays” shimmers with the rising sun alongside “The Friendly Dark”, a gentle, heartwarming lullaby. Light and water intermingle in Milana Zilnik’s “Acqua” while Jiří Horák’s “Underwater Secrets”, for violin and piano, shows the Czech musician’s love of folk music. Ipsum’s Silent Beat floats away into the night with “Paper Lanterns Parade”, its lights gradually fading on the distant wind.
