Pedro de Escobar

A composer and choir director who worked in the court of Queen Isabella as well as in the court of King Manuel I. His compositions included motets and masses and his responsibilities included a stay in Seville directing the boys choirs which entailed feeding and clothing them and housing them. Escobar was competent in counter point and textual expression. ~ Keith Johnson
