Arnautz Daniel

Biography

This French troubador's primary claim to fame rests upon the references concerning him by Dante in canto 26 of the second part of the Divine Comedy, Purgatory. Stylistic elements within his scope obtained to complex and difficult pieces. It is thought that Arnaut was highly schooled because of the dense character and references in his written work; only a scholar or learned man would have access to such information and mannerisms. Roughly a score of poems are attributed to him. ~ Keith Johnson
