Behzad Ranjbaran

Biography

Composer Behzad Ranjbaran is recognized as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary symphonic music. His work, vivid and evocative, draws heavily on Persian literature and mythology, particularly the Shahnameh, the monumental Persian epic written by the poet Ferdowsi between the 10th and 11th centuries. Among his most significant creations is the Persian Trilogy, a sweeping orchestral cycle recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, which stands as a cornerstone of his catalog. Through a body of work deeply rooted in his heritage yet resonating with universal sensibilities, Ranjbaran has established himself as one of the most compelling composers of his generation.
