Bob Chilcott is a composer with a palpable love of the human voice, a gift for melody, and, as demonstrated by rather Waltonian Gloria, an ability to raise the spirits. Choralis, a very fine choir, offer a nicely varied, seasonal program with lots of vocal thrills along the way—the oratorio, Wenceslas, tells the story of the Good King and is a lot of fun. My Perfect Stranger, with Kevin Crossley-Holland’s words retelling the Christmas story, is also very effective. You’ll quickly be singing along.
