Giuseppe Matteo Alberti

Giuseppe Mateo Alberti was a composer and violinist who was greatly influnced by Vivaldi. He was both a member and president of The Accademia Filarmonica beginning in 1713 and 1721 respectively. He served as president of The Filarminica at least six times, composed and conducted several violin concertos and sonatas, and had a demonstrated popularity in England. Alberti's concertos were popular in England descriptively because of his tendencies towards technical moderation, tight structure, and lucid character. ~ Keith Johnson
