Iosif Ivanovici

Biography

A student of Riedl and Lehr, Ivanovici composed fanfares, marches, waltzes and diverse folk melodies. Some of his works were composed for military bands but he was adept and popular for his piano pieces and vocal works for parties of the day. "Valurile Dunarii" (The Danube Waves) was perhaps his most famous work written as a fanfare but also arranged for the piano. ~ Keith Johnson
