Biography
Violinist Fenella Humphreys combines versatility with lyrical, graceful playing. Her repertory includes several works written especially for her by leading British composers. Humphreys' career has been balanced between chamber music and solo work. As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with Pekka Kuusisto and Alec Frank-Gemmill, among many others, and she has given world premieres of works by composers, including Peter Maxwell Davies and Sally Beamish. In 2012, she made her recording debut, performing Christopher Wright's Violin Concerto under conductor Martin Yates. Humphreys issued the album Caprices in 2022 and returned with the solo violin recital Prism in 2024.
