Teodoro Cottrau

Teodoro Cottrau's musical career was dominated by others as he was involved in publications and legalities concerning those publications (he was a lawyer and publisher). Acquaintances included Verdi, Bellini, Donizetti, Pacini and the Ricci brothers. The primary outlet of Cottrau's musical talent was the song. He composed approximately 50 different tunes and among the pieces to his credit are "Santa Lucia," "Addio mia bella Napoli," and "Sorrentina". ~ Keith Johnson
