Vitalij Kowaljow

Ukrainian bass Vitalij Kowaljow lives in Switzerland and has a long record of performances and recordings in the West. His repertory of some 40 operas includes German, Italian, and Russian roles. Kowaljow's recordings include music ranging from Mozart to heavier roles in Wagner and Mussorgsky. In 2025, he was heard with the London Symphony Orchestra on a recording of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 13 in B flat major, Op. 113 ("Babi Yar").
