Jérôme Correas
Biography
Jérôme Correas is a fixture on the Baroque music scene, a versatile figure who is noted as a conductor, harpsichordist, and bass-baritone singer. He is also a significant educator. In 1988, Correas joined Les Arts Florissants, remaining with the group until 1993. In 2001, Correas founded his own Baroque ensemble, Les Paladins, specializing in vocal music of the 17th and 18th centuries; he has frequently performed and recorded with that group, and he cut back on his own vocal appearances in order to devote more time to it. The group was an immediate success, making its first recording, Haendel: Cantates & Duos Italiens, in the year it was formed. In 2022, Correas and Les Paladins backed soprano Sandrine Piau on the album Handel: Enchantresses.
